I’ve been listening to X‑ÆON by Giöbia a lot lately. The French band released it in October 2025 on Heavy Psych Sounds Records. Right from the start, it grabs you with buzzing guitars and steady drums.
The first track, “Voodoo Experience”, is fuzzy and slow, with the drums keeping a nice beat. It’s heavy but kind of dreamy too, makes you want to just sink into it.
Then comes “Fractal Haze”. The guitars loop, the bass hums underneath, and the drums keep things moving. If you let yourself, it’s easy to get lost in it.
Only one song has singing, “The Death of the Crows”. It’s dark and moody, like an old movie soundtrack. It gives a break from the mostly instrumental tracks.
The main piece, “La Mort de la Terre”, has four parts with French titles. It starts slow, builds up, and then slows down again. Feels like a little story told with the instruments.
There are tiny details all over, a guitar flicker here, a soft synth there (“Fractal Haze” is pretty memorable by synths). Quiet moments go into louder parts naturally. Nothing feels forced.
If you like space rock or psych jams, you’ll enjoy this. It’s not about short songs or catchy hooks. It’s about what the music does to you. Listen closely and you’ll hear something new each time.
X‑ÆON is a very solid record. Some parts are heavy, some dreamy, and the band lets each instrument do its thing without overdoing it. You can just sit back and take it all in.
