I didn’t know what to expect from Litania, and honestly, it caught me off guard. It’s heavy, but not in a straightforward way – the riffs hit, sure, but then the sitar and harmonium show up and suddenly it’s… something else. Like you’re not just listening to metal anymore.
Some tracks drag at first. Veil of Illusions takes its time to build, and at points I thought, “Is this ever going to go anywhere?” But then it does. When the vocals come in, they’re not trying to impress — they just are. There’s a trance-like quality that makes it hard to look away.
Ghunghru is wild, with this psych-rock energy that feels almost chaotic but controlled. Jamuniya and Vighnaharta are slower, groovier, more meditative. You feel the layers more than you hear them sometimes, like the music is pressing around you.
It’s not an easy listen. It asks for your attention, and if you give it, it’s rewarding. It’s hypnotic, heavy, and a little strange — in the best way. I kept thinking about it long after the last track faded.
